#1 Affordable
Housing
Be
it resolved that CHSA
advocate to all levels of government for immediate interim shelter spaces
and long term affordable housing.

#2 Saskatoon Community Formulary
Be
it resolved that the Community Clinic using the information by the
Canadian Agency for Drug Technology for a Formulary Committee and
re-establish the Saskatoon Community Formulary.

#3 Prescription Drug Costs Be it resolved that
CHSA urges the government of Saskatchewan to develop new strategies to
reduce the cost of prescribed drugs which would be similar to those
employed by the Pharmaceutical Management Agency of New Zealand, such as
reference pricing, rebates and discounts, package agreements and
contracts. |

#4 Rational Drug Therapy Be
it resolved that CHSA urges the government of Saskatchewan to
establish an independent organization, at arms length from the government,
the pharmaceutical industry and other vested groups, that would be along
the lines of the Therapeutics Initiative established in 1994 by the
University of British Columbia. Its mandate would be to critically appraise
summary evidence primarily from controlled trials and to provide
physicians and pharmacists with up to date, evidence based, practical
information on rational drug therapy.

#5 Universal Drug Plan
Be
it resolved that CHSA urges the government of Saskatchewan to create a
universal drug plan providing prescribed drugs that have been proven
effective and safe to all residents of the province regardless of their
age and income.

#6 Westside Initiatives
Be
it resolved that CHSA organize community support including the College
of Dentistry, College of Medicine and other community organizations to
initiate a concerted effort to lobby government for support for Westside
initiatives, and that we ask the Board of CHSA that as soon as they can
arrange, all those parties be convened.
