Whereas informed members and supporters who are aware of the needs, proposals and plans of the Clinic may be more inclined to donate funds to the Clinic;

And Whereas informed members and supporters may also be more apt to remember the Clinic and its needs when members and supporters are making decisions regarding their donations of gifts, donations and remembrances to organizations and to individuals;

And Whereas the Saskatchewan Government may not be able to provide the funds requested by the Clinic;

Be it resolved that the Board engage, inform and involve members and supporters in advance of major plans and decisions for projects that require substantial funds well before major expenditures are made by the Clinic.

Further be it resolved that well informed members and supporters who are aware of the Clinic's plans and needs may be more inclined to donate additional funds to the Clinic over a period of years..

Resolution #2  Healthcare Acquired Infections (HCAIs)

Be it resolved that the Board of CHSA consider taking the following steps in connection with healthcare acquired infections (HCAIs):

1. Explore the benefits of CHSA joining the Safer Healthcare Now! Campaign;

2. Recommend to the Province's Minister of Health that:

   1. a provincial taskforce be set up to investigate healthcare acquired infections in Saskatchewan healthcare facilities and to make recommendations to deal more effectively with them,

   2. in the meantime, Saskatchewan Health provide the Health Regions with more resources so they can follow the Safer Healthcare Now! evidence based guidelines,

   3. reporting of HCAIs to other appropriate agencies and to the general public be made mandatory,

   4. cleaning services in hospitals be maintained as publicly funded services and contracting-out to private companies be avoided.
